Amnon Shai, Ph.D.
Dr. Shai is a cum laude graduate of Hebrew University in Jerusalem and earned both his master's and doctoral degrees from Boston University. His extensive experience includes clinical work in hospitals, mental health agencies and child guidance centers; serving as a psychological consultant to mental health organizations and agencies both in the United States and Israel; serving as a psychologist in military settings; and directing a private multidisciplinary outpatient clinic. Dr. Shai served as the clinical director and administrator of Bellefaire Jewish Children's Bureau residential treatment program for more than 20 years, where he was chief professional officer and director of the community and clinical services divisions, the Monarch School for Children with Autism, the Health Clinic and the Jewish Day Nursery. Dr. Shai has served on the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Psychological Association since 1996 and is also a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Advancement of Psychology. He provides individual, marital and family therapy and has a special interest in treating older adults, post-traumatic stress disorder, and helping clients adjust to loss, bereavement and grief.
